Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mastery of Arabic vocabulary and the lack of student enthusiasm in learning, caused by limited variations in engaging learning media. Pinterest, as an image-based platform, is considered capable of helping students better understand and retain vocabulary through visual and contextual presentation. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Pinterest application as a visual media reference on the vocabulary mastery of tenth-grade students at MAS Tarbiyah Islamiyah Pasir. The method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental approach and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 34 students from class XB. Data were collected through pretest and posttest, each consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. Data analysis was conducted using the paired sample t-test with SPSS. The results showed a significant improvement in posttest scores compared to the pretest. The calculated t-value of 49.612 was greater than the t-table value of 2.0345 at a 5% significance level. These findings indicate that the use of Pinterest as a visual learning media has a significant effect on improving students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery.
