التحيز اللغوي في اللغة العربية: دراسة تحليلية وصفية للأدبيات المعاصرة

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the concept of linguistic bias, its forms, causes, and effects, as well as explore ways to address it, through a descriptive analytical study of the most prominent contemporary scientific literature and studies related to the Arabic language. The research has shown that language is not a neutral tool, but rather reflects social and cultural structures and reproduces power and dominance relations. Linguistic bias in the Arabic language manifests itself in many forms, most notably gender bias (preference for masculine over feminine), ethnic and cultural bias, age and social bias, as well as biases inherent in popular proverbs and social discourse. The causes of this bias are manifold, ranging from social norms and the structure of the language itself to psychological and cognitive factors. Its effects include reinforcing negative stereotypes, perpetuating social inequality, influencing educational and employment opportunities, and entrenching stereotypes in the collective consciousness. To address this phenomenon, the research proposes revising educational curricula, developing dictionaries and terminology, employing artificial intelligence techniques, and raising community awareness. The research concludes that linguistic bias is not inevitable, but rather a challenge that requires critical awareness and institutional reform to ensure a more just and inclusive language.
