Author Guidelines
ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Jurnal Bidayah invites contributors from all backgrounds to submit manuscripts under the following conditions:
- GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- The article must be based on original research, critical analysis, or book reviews in the field of Islamic Studies.
- The manuscript must not have been previously published or be under review by any other journal or publication.
- Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian, English, or Arabic, using correct and appropriate language. The formatting should meet the following criteria:
- Paper size: A4
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Line spacing: 1.15
- Margins: 4 cm (left), 3 cm (right), 3 cm (top and bottom)
- Length: 10–25 pages or 4,000–8,000 words
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx, or .rtf)
- All submitted manuscripts will be checked for similarity (plagiarism). Manuscripts with a similarity score of more than 40% will not be reviewed or published.
- Articles must be submitted through the Online Journal System (OJS) of Jurnal Bidayah at the following link: https://ejournal.staindirundeng.ac.id/index.php/bidayah/index
Authors must register before submitting the manuscript.
- MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
- Title, Abstract, and Keywords
The manuscript title should not exceed 15 words, typed in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, bold, and center-aligned. It must be followed by an abstract in both Indonesian and English, each ranging from 100–150 words, and include 3 to 5 keywords.
- Subheadings
Subheadings in the manuscript should follow this formatting:
- Level 1 subheading: ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, bold.
- Level 2 subheading: Capitalized (Title Case), bold, left-aligned.
- Level 3 subheading: Capitalized (Title Case), italic, bold, and left-aligned.
- Content Format
a. For research-based articles, the structure should include: - Title
- Author's full name (without academic titles)
- Institutional affiliation
- Author's email
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Theoretical framework
- Methodology
- Findings and discussion
- Conclusion
- References
- Appendices (if any)
- Forcritical analysis or book review articles, the structure should include:
- Title
- Author's full name (without academic titles)
- Institutional affiliation
- Author's email
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Subheadings as needed
- Conclusion
- References
- Appendices (if any)
- Tables and Figures
a. Tables must be numbered (e.g., Table 1, Table 2, etc.), with the title placed above the table. Any additional information should be placed below the table in italic font, size 9 (e.g., table source).
b. Figures must also be numbered (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.), with the title placed below the figure in font size 9.

The citation system used in the journal follows the APA (American Psychological Association) style. Authors are encouraged to use a reference management tool, such as Mendeley or Zotero.
