Author Guidelines

Articles submitted to MAQASIDI: Journal of Sharia and Law must adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. The article should be a conceptual paper or research result concerning Islamic criminal law, legislation, and social institutions that has not been previously published in print or online media.
  2. The article should be written in standard Indonesian or English by using Book Antiqua font, size 12, with a length of 3500-4000 words, and submitted as a Word document through the Open Journal System (OJS) of MAQASIDI: Jurnal Syariah dan Hukum.
  3. The author(s) name should be written without academic titles, positions, or ranks.
  4. The article should include the title, author's name, affiliation, and confirmation email, an abstract (150-200 words), keywords (3-5 words), introduction, methods, discussion and results, conclusion, and references.
  5. Any foreign words or terms should be italicized, and Arabic words should be transliterated according to the guidelines of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs.
  6. Articles that meet the requirements will be verified and validated by the editorial team for format and style uniformity without altering the intent and content.
  7. Citations should use the body note format, and references should be organized using citation managers like Mendeley or Zotero following the American Psychological Association (APA) style.
  8. The number of references should be at least 20 (70% from journals and 30% from books), and other types of references (aside from journals and books) are allowed without a limit.
