THE INFLUENCE OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IMLA’ (DICTATION) MANZHUR METHOD IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILLS AT MTSS NURUL FALAH

Abstract

The problems faced by students in learning Arabic, particularly in the teaching of writing, indicate that students experience difficulties in writing Arabic, such as errors in letter forms, letter connections, and the placement of harakat. Therefore, teachers need to choose the appropriate method for teaching writing skills. In this study, the researcher examined the imla‘ manzhur method (visual dictation) due to its importance in addressing students‘ difficulties in writing. The purpose of this research is to determine the implementation of the imla‘ manzhur method and its effect on improving students‘ writing skills at MTsS Nurul Falah. This research is a field study using a quantitative approach. The research design is an experimental study with a single group that was given a pre-test and a post-test. The researcher used several data collection techniques, namely observation, tests, interviews, and questionnaires. The results indicate that the implementation of the Imla‘ Manzhur method consists of three main stages: (1) introduction, where the teacher greets and motivates the students; (2) core activities, where the teacher writes a text, explains its meaning, erases it, and dictates it again; and (3) closing, where the teacher reviews and corrects students‘ work.
