UTILIZATION OF CHATGPT–OPENAI AS AN INNOVATIVE LEARNING MEDIUM FOR PROSPECTIVE MI/SD TEACHERS

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology brings great opportunities for innovation in learning media in higher education. ChatGPT–OpenAI, as one of the AI-based applications, can be utilized by prospective MI/SD teachers to create more interactive and creative learning experiences. This study aims to analyze the use of ChatGPT as an AI-based learning media innovation in improving the quality of student learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through observation and interviews with students who use ChatGPT in their learning activities. The results of the study show that the forms of innovation developed include: (1) the use of ChatGPT as a text-based virtual learning assistant, (2) conversation simulations through role play and storytelling, (3) the creation of automatic infographics to support concept understanding, and (4) application in the Project Based Learning (PBL) model. These innovations help students understand the material in depth, foster creativity, and increase learning motivation. Thus, ChatGPT–OpenAI has proven to be an effective and relevant AI-based learning medium for prospective MI/SD teachers.
