THE PRINCIPLES OF MODERATION IN ISLAM

Abstract


The title in this paper is about the Principles of Moderation in Islam. Moderation is one of the main values developed by Islam. This is one of the goals objectives of sharia that came to spread it in the lives in the life of Muslims. As Ibn Ashur said that moderation is the first and most important goal of the Shari'ah", Sharia, giving rise to this raises a problem formulation, namely What are the Principles of Moderation in Islam?
The method in his this study is to uses a type of library research using qualitative data types, and by using both primary, secondary and, tertiary data sources related relating to the problem being studied about the Moderation Principles in Islam, with the aim of this study to analyze analyzing the Principles of Religious Moderation in Islam. Islam.
The results of the study conclude this study that is the Moderation Principle in Islam is based on the meanings of tolerance, simplicity, and justice. The importance of moderation is that it symbolizes a position between the two extremes groups, of the excessive (ifrat) ( ifrat ) and neglect disparaging person (tafrit) ( tafrit ); thus it is the backbone of all wholesome qualities. The concept of moderation has many manifestations. This has related to do with the way Muslims deals with treat other Muslims, as well as the way he deals with they treat non-Muslims as indicated by the 4 four indicators of religious moderation that are as measured in practice for every individual in Indonesia, namely: 1) national commitment; 2) tolerance; 3) non-violence; and 4) accommodating to accommodates local culture.
