CUSTOMER PERCEPTIONS IN USING GOLD PAWN SERVICES AT INDONESIAN SHARIA BANK MEULABOH

Abstract

This study aims to determine customer perceptions and the factors that influence customers in using gold pawn services (rahn) at Islamic Bank Indonesia Meulaboh Branch. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive analysis approach. Researchers obtain data by meancs of questionnaires, interviews and direct observations with costumers who use gold pawn services (rahn) at Islamic Bank Indonesia Meulaboh Branch as the study location and conduct interviews with custumers, and the director of Islamic Bank Indonesia Meulaboh Branch who is considered to continue to provide the information that researchers need. The results of the study reveal that costumer perceptions of using gold pawn services (rahn) at Islamic Bank Indonesia Meulaboh Branch are not containing elements of usury, investment retruns are divided according to a profit sharing system, prohibition of speculative behavior, halal contracts, sharia-compliant activities, zakat activities, and avoiding the production of goods and services that are contrary to Islamic values
