Author Guidelines

Basha'ir Writing Guidelines: Scientific Journal of Qur'an and Tafsir Study Program:

Basha'ir: Scientific Journal of the Study Program of Qur'an and Tafsir, published twice a year and publishes the results of research and theoretical studies on the Qur'an. The scope of Basha'ir Journal is: 1) Study of Qur'anic Science, 2) Qur'an Translation, 3) Qur'anic Tafsir Study, 4) Research on the Qur'an, and 5) Living Qur'an. Manuscripts submitted to Basha'ir editors will be considered for publication if they meet the following criteria:

  • The manuscript is in the form of research results and thoughts / conceptual and has never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media and does not contain plagiarism elements.
  • The plagiarism tolerance limit for articles is a maximum of 35%
  • The manuscript is written in Indonesian/English/Arabic, with a manuscript content between 3000-5000 words or 7-10 pages (including text, all tables, and figures, notes, references, and appendices intended for publication). The manuscript is written according to the Basha'ir journal template using Font-size: Goudy Old Style 12 pt, A4 paper size, top margin: 2 cm, bottom: 2 cm, left: 2.5 cm, and right: 2 cm. Space 1.15 pt.
  • The manuscript is written sequentially consisting of: Title, Author Name (without title), Author Affiliation (institution and e-mail), Abstract, Keywords, Content, and Bibliography.
  • The title must be concise and specific not exceeding 16 words using Indonesian, English or Arabic.
  • Inclusion of the author's name, institutional affiliation, and email address under the article title, and the author does not need to include an academic degree;
  • Abstracts are written in English and Indonesian consisting of 100-200 words. Which contains the background of the problem, objectives, methods, and research results / conclusions. Abstracts are often presented separately from articles, so they must be able to stand alone. Therefore, non-standard or uncommon references and abbreviations should be avoided;
  • Keywords consist of 2-5 words or phrases that reflect the content of the manuscript.
  • Basha'ir only accepts electronic (online) shipments. Therefore, authors must log in before submitting their articles. The manuscript is sent through the online submission of the Basha'ir Journal with the address Link Submissions (directly click register).
  • Systematics of writing:
    1. Research results, consisting of: Title, Author Name, Author Affiliation (institution and e-mail), Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Research Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Bibliography;
    2. Thought/Conceptual results: Title, Author Name, Author Affiliation (institution and e-mail), Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Content, Conclusion, Bibliography.
  • Citations usually only require the author's last name, year published, and (sometimes) page number. All works cited should appear in the list of references at the end of the article and be arranged alphabetically. All notes must appear in the text as innotes. Citation of references is recommended using reference applications (reference managers) such as Mendeley, Zotero, Microsoft Reference, and others and written with the American Psychological Association (APA) 16th Edition citation system.
    1. The Bibliography is written alphabetically by containing: author name, year of publication, book/journal/magazine title typed in italics, city of publication, and publisher name. Reference list and references is the latest bibliography with a minimum reference of 60% from interrelated scientific journals or research, above 2013. The number of references in the bibliography is at least 15 reference libraries.
    2. All manuscripts that enter the editor will go through a blind review process by peer reviewers after review by the editor. The published manuscript will be edited again by the editor without changing the substance of the content.
