Abstract

This study aims to develop a strategy to increase self-learning for students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Zainul Hassan Genggong Islamic University, Probolinggo, in Arabic language proficiency courses in an age of turmoil. This research is qualitative research using the descriptive method. The data collection techniques for the qualitative method in this study used several designs; Interview techniques, documentation, and literature study. Systematic strategy development refers to five stages according to Hready's theory. This research shows the results of several strategies to increase the self-learning of students of Arabic language education at Zain Al-Hassan Geng Gong Islamic University and they take language proficiency courses; 1) Creation of environmental Arabic (bi'ah lughawiyah. 2) Observing and evaluating the use of Arabic as a language of instruction in lectures. 3) Coordination in RPP setup. 4) Directing religious subjects as subjects of knowledge and skills at the same time. 5) Motivation to compete. 6) Student Achievement Award Program. 7) Supervisor in the competition.
